This is merely a scam to separate you from $87.00 of you hard earned money. Once recorded, land records can be obtained from the Recorder of Deeds by anyone, including companies like this, which harvests the public information. For the next few months you will be getting mail from Alarm companies, Insurance companies, home improvement companies etc, Most of them are simply trying to sell you a product but BEWARE of scammers such as these.
The problem is, you don’t need your deed. Those documents are mailed to you free after a sale or transfer. And if you need another copy, you can order one through your county clerk’s office for a few dollars. Usually, copy charges from the Recorder’s Office are $2.00 for the first page and $1.00 for each additional page & some counties you can also order deed copies online.
