Each Christmas we like to take time as a team and enjoy a nice meal as we kick off the holiday season and wrap up our final closings of the current year. These are 2 of our favorite recipes to prepare for our team. This blog was written because normally someone ask for the recipe so we thought we would share (-:
Crockpot Breakfast Casserole
WHAT YOU NEED:
2 lbs. frozen, shredded hash browns
1 pkg. Sausage Browned, drained, crumbled
2 cups (8 ounces) shredded Cheddar cheese 1 cup (4 ounces) shredded mozzarella cheese 1/2 cup (2 ounces) Parmesan cheese 6 green onions, sliced 12 eggs 1/2 cup Half and half 1/2 cup milk 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:
- Spray a 6 quart crockpot with cooking spray. Layer 1/2 of the hash browns on the bottom of crockpot. (I usually double this for a large crock pot
- Top with half of the sausage, the cheeses, and green onion. Repeat layering.
- Beat eggs, milk, half and half, salt, and pepper in large bowl with a wire whisk until well blended.
- Pour evenly over hash brown-sausage mixture.
- Cook on low setting for 8 hours or on high setting for 4 hours or until eggs are set
Praline French Toast
WHAT YOU NEED:
- 1 loaf French bread (13 to 16 ounces)
- 8 large eggs
- 2 cups half-and-half
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Praline Topping, recipe below should be prepared next morning
Praline Topping
- ½ pound (2 sticks) butter
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl and blend well. Pour over French toast evenly before putting in the oven.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:
- Melt 2 sticks of butter and pour into baking dish.
- Cut French bread in advance to dry out
- Dip each side of bread into the butter and begin placing in pan
- Cover and let sit in refrigerator over night
Next morning melt Praline ingredients and pour over French bread
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 min
